Geekily 12 Days of Christmas – Raspberry Pi

So something that I received this year for Christmas was a Raspberry Pi. If you are unfamiliar with this, then I strongly urge you climb out of your cave more often. The Raspberry Pi is a very cheap very cool micro computer made by the guys over at Raspberry Pi originally started out as a charity to help schools in 3rd world countries to get used to computers, however now they have been turned into a gimic and are great to play around with.

This Christmas, I managed to get my hands on one and I am well on my way to turning it into a media PC. Just to play songs and watch You Tube. Nothing complicated. I will try and write a full round up when I have completed this.

The Raspberry Pi has hundreds of uses and it only costs £30 (without any accessories, just the device). You can turn it into a media player, or like some of the guys at Raspberry Pi, you can turn it into a talking bear that reads out tweets when someone uses a certain hashtag. Its really astonishing what you can do with this piece of kit for the money and I recommend that all coders a like give it a go. The language you are programming in is your limit!

I hope that you guys have enjoyed the 2nd day of Christmas, see you soon!

£30? O_O …… how does it work? Do you just plug it into a screen or something?
