Age of Empires II: HD Edition, coming to a Steam store near you

It’ll be time to relive a great era of gaming when Age of Empires II: HD Edition comes to Steam on April 9th. Not only will it be available for download, but a whole host of new content and HD graphics have been added courtesy of Hidden Path Entertainment.

Hidden Path Entertainment, who also create Counter Strike: Global Offensive, have worked tirelessly for over 6 months creating an iteration of the original title updated to fit the demands of 2013 gamers.

PC Gamer offers comparative screenshots of the original edition of Age 2 vs. the Steam developer preview.

The release will support Steam Workshop, courtesy of Valve, multi-monitor support and whole host of tweaks/improvements on the original game. Steam Cloud support and Steam leaderboards will be easily accessible, ensuring no users feels left out in their excitement.

Consistently scoring 9/10 or above in GameRankings and Metacritic reviews, Age of Empires 2 remains one of the PC’s most popular titles of all time and is sure to become a Steam bestseller.

At only £15 ($20), it’s a steal. If you preorder, Valve will also offer you a 10% discount.
